BOO!

Happy Halloween! I know I’m a couple days late… (but I am back dating this…just so I can appear to be a put together on top of it blogger)

In honor of our recent trip to Disney…and the kids adoration with the Mouse and his Mrs. K & P were you guessed it…

DSC_0071

Mickey and Minnie and I mean really… could they be any CUTER!

They both quickly learned that saying “Trick or Treat” or as Patrick says in his sweetest little boy voice… “Treat” that they got a handful of candy!

My kids certainly know how to ham it up… we had complete strangers asking us if they could take their picture.

We practiced for the big day on Saturday… we went Trick or Treating in downtown Stoneham!

DSC_0007DSC_0008DSC_0009DSC_0020DSC_0028DSC_0030

Since, we had just moved the week before and really don’t know our neighborhood yet, we went to Papa’s to do our treating on Halloween night!

DSC_0095DSC_0095-1DSC_0095-2DSC_0096DSC_0104DSC_0108DSC_0110DSC_0137DSC_0144

We only went down my dad’s street…and the kids have MORE than enough candy… considering I found and threw away candy from last Easter when I was packing.

Stream of Consciousness

Ahh… SO much to say. Some of it I will attempt to do in this post and the rest is probably better left unsaid… If you are like my husband… that last statement will drive you crazy. Not my intention but not sure I have the brain power to spill it all right now. Not to say that I won’t in the future.

So what have the Murphy’s been up to since our return from the happiest place on earth… oh, you know us never a dull moment. Mike’s famous words “Honey, It’s OK, but damn we couldn’t make this shit up”

So as you know we arrived back on Sunday and by Monday afternoon Katy & I were headed in to children for some fluids. No big deal!

On Thursday 10/16 Katy had a routine GI appointment to have her G tube looked at… when will we learn that it is never ROUTINE for my girl Kate. GI doc was not impressed with how the sight looked… he felt it looked infected…we felt it looked like it had since she had the damn tube placed 6 weeks ago. So that earned Katy an admission to good old 8 EAST for a super duper dose of IV antibiotics. Now mind you this is 9 days before we move!

UGGG so we arrange care for Patrick! Thanks Tracy! and just try to get through the 48 hour admission. The team really worked well with us to get us in and out as soon as possible.

So then we are hope to PACK AND PACK AND PACK! My mom came over to help! Thank goodness!

Moving day finally arrived… Thanks to John, Justin, Brice, my mom and Krissie… were able to get it all moved and the kitchen and Bath somewhat settled.

Super Special Thanks!! to Papa & Tracy for taking the kids for the ENTIRE day! WE couldn’t have done it with the babes around and they had a blast at Papa’s!

So we are in and slowly but surely getting it done. The boxes and chaos make me very unsettled. We already love our new home and town. This is going to be a great thing for us.

Once I have a moment or two I will get our We’ve Moved address cards out to you!

Back to reality… ahhh

We landed in Boston at 1:00 pm and we were in the Children’s Hospital ER within 24 hours… I know I didn’t believe it either.

Katy was very tired when we got home, to be expected. We all were. We were NON STOP all week in Disney.

Then she puked. ( I really have tried to find a better word for puke… there really isn’t one.) Still hopeful Mike and I decide that she probably is just overtired… then she puked again, and again and again. So now on top of all the vacation laundry we had puke laundry. LOVELY

We had a rough night and then the dry diapers started… never a good sign for a heart baby that takes 3 diuretics. I knew if I called, we were going in. I had no choice I called… they sent us in, and we prayed we weren’t going to be admitted.

It just made more sense for me to head in with Katy. So we did… we have a speed pass for the ER. (Only positive I can see to being on the transplant list)

O2 Stats were 99 …can’t beat that and she seemed OK just dehydrated which like I said due to her diuretic dosage is very easy for her to do.

Dr. Blume came down to see us and work with the ER doctor for a plan. Thought about admitting us, I begged her not to.

It was decided that we would stay for the next 4-6 hours and see how Katy tolerated Pedialyte through her tube, after she was given Zofran to stop the puking. Hmmm… maybe that damn tube is useful after all. It certainly in my opinion saved us from an admission this time.

Since she tolerated it fine… we came home and were able to run the Pedialyte through the tube to keep her hydrated.

I know at this point I shouldn’t be surprised at this… but really not even home 24 hours. I suppose it could have been worse… could have happened while we were at Disney!

Murphy’s 2010 Trip to Walt Disney World 2010

So I am finally done editing all of our Disney Prints and I have hemmed and hawed on the best way to play blog catch up. I don’t see it as a chore… I see it as reliving all the wonderful moments, and seeing some that I didn’t notice the first time around.

So I think what I am going to do is just have a HUGE blog post broken up by day. Since I think that is how I would most like to read it through? What do you think. I welcome your feedback. I want this blog to be not only a running record for our family, but enjoyable to our readers.

Disney Day 1

Alarm went off at 4:15 AM Needless to say there wasn’t much sleep at least not for me anyway. Thankfully we had almost EVERYTHING done and ready to go we just had to get ourselves ready. Which was great since there was not much more we could have done.

My sister arrived promptly at 4:45 AM and we sent her to Dunkin Donuts since that would make a better day for everyone, if mommy had her coffee.

5:00 AM the limo arrived to take us to Logan

DSC_0273 DSC_0275 DSC_0276 DSC_0277

When we arrived at Logan our AWESOME Make A Wish volunteer was there to help get us settled. The staff at Delta was amazing.

DSC_0280 DSC_0281

Katy even had the opportunity to sit in the cock pit and meet our pilot. We all thought that was very cool.

DSC_0285 DSC_0288 DSC_0291

And we are off destination Orlando, Florida!

DSC_0301 DSC_0324 DSC_0331

The flight was long due to the fact that the seat belt light was on the ENTIRE flight due to turbulence. Luckily we didn’t feel much of anything. Still it made for a long flight!

We arrived in Orlando at roughly 10:30 AM. We were greeted by a volunteer from Give Kids The World. Give Kids the world is the resort that Make A Wish Kids stay at.

This was our home for the week!

Give Kids The World is a truly amazing place. Each night a gift was left for both Katy and Patrick! You can even have ice cream for breakfast!

Disney Day 2

Today was our 1st day at the parks. We headed to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

First we headed to the Safari… which we had heard/read great things about. We also heard that the line can be ridiculously long, and we weren’t sure how helpful our Make A Wish badge would help. Well it was great and our Make A Wish badge is truly magical

DSC_0025DSC_0027 DSC_0035 DSC_0087DSC_0097 DSC_0105 DSC_0134

Meeting Mr..& Mrs.. Mouse was AMAZING!!

Shortly after these photos were taken it rained I mean POURED. WE WERE SOAKED TO THE BONE!

We ducked into the Lion King Show to dry off. It was good, but not nearly as good as the Finding Nemo show. But, it was dry.

Tomorrow: Sea World

Disney Day 3 Sea World

Today was our day at Sea World. Auntie Corinne chose not to join us and stayed back at the hotel. So it was just Me, Mike and the Kids VS. Shamu.

DSC_0428 DSC_0429 DSC_0430 DSC_0431

Then Mike and I took turns riding the new coaster. The Manta

swo_manta_aerial-may08

“The Manta flying roller coaster at SeaWorld Orlando is inspired by the underwater flight of these powerful creatures. Guests are placed in a horizontal "flying" position and then hoisted up 140-feet to begin a journey that includes four thrilling inversions at speeds reaching nearly 60 miles per hour. At times the track on Manta soars so close to the water below that the train's wings actually skim the water.” UltimateRollerCoaster.com

Then we went to visit the dolphins!

After dinner we had to go and meet up with Auntie Corinne and Patrick and to change into Halloween outfits…for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

The Not So Scary Parade and Fireworks were AMAZING!!! We had a late night! But an awesome time!!

Tomorrow… Some shopping at Downtown Disney and a princess makeover for our princess!

Disney Day 5 Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Well today was a very big day in our vacation. Miss Kate was going to be treated to the royal princess treatment at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tours-and-experiences/bibbidi-bobbidi-boutique/

We did some shopping in Downtown Disney! Then we headed to the Boutique.

Katy had her pick from any princess dress she wanted and I was a bit surprised when she picked Tinkerbell… but it has been a current favorite movie.

DSC_0008 DSC_0027 DSC_0029DSC_0031 DSC_0052 DSC_0092 DSC_0118 DSC_0122DSC_0131 DSC_0132 DSC_0145DSC_0146 DSC_0165 DSC_0180DSC_0181 DSC_0215-1

Katy made the right choice she was a perfect Tinkerbell!

After that we headed back to the Kingdom for some more magical fun!

DSC_0322DSC_0327 DSC_0343 DSC_0347DSC_0362 DSC_0376 DSC_0397 DSC_0419DSC_0422 DSC_0423 DSC_0430 DSC_0435

We were all sad to leave the Kingdom! We can’t wait to come back again! I am so glad we went! I thought the kids were too young, but I am happy to say that it was truly a wonderful, most magical trip!! Katy is already asking when we can go back to the castle.

I am sorry if this post was too long and too picture heavy. I took over 2500 pictures and I had a hard time choosing. I will have more Disney pictures to bore share with you once I upload the professional pictures!
