First Dance Class

I am beaming as I write this. Seriously, I can’t wipe the smile off my face. Katy had her first dance class today. Ballet/tap for 3 year olds at the local dance studio.

Katy was so very excited to go. She patiently let me do her hair this morning, she practiced all her dance moves, and could hardly wait to get into the studio. ( I was pretty excited too… I know lame… I am so lame… I am such a cliché … such a helicopter mom… I am now a Dance Mom and couldn’t be happier or prouder of my girl)

I was so worried she wouldn’t go without me, that there would be tears, she wouldn’t want to wear the ballet slippers/tap shoes, that she wouldn’t participate.

I am happy to say, I worried for NOTHING!!

My girl was born to dance…

She went right in… didn’t even need a pep talk or kisses, she was ready to dance.

Kate was so confident and comfortable. Following directions, enjoying herself, having fun doing 3 year old things!!

Her teacher Miss Sharon is awesome!! We already LOVE her!!

Keeping in true cliché fashion…

“ And if you get the choice to sit it out or dance,

I hope you dance. I hope you dance”

I started singing the words to that song the minute I saw the title of your post and by the end, I was crying. I love your photos of Katie. I love the look of concentration and you can tell how much she is enjoying it and drinking it all in. I really like the picture where she and the other little girl are grinning at each other too. How utterly fun for her...and for you too! I'll bet she can't wait for each dance day to roll around!

These photos are absolutely adorable. I especially love the ones where she has her hands on her hips - so serious!
So cute.

This is the sweetest thing ever. I love Katy in her tutu and how she looks so serious as she follows the directions! <3 what a fabulous little wonder.

Oh my goodness how cute is she, wow it looks like she is just going to love it. I love the way she has her eyes glued on the teacher (at least is seems) in the one pic.
